Fire Operations

Guilford County Emergency Services Squad 50 was established in April 2004.

The concept of this unit is to provide fire and rescue support functions to the 22 fire districts that make up Guilford County Fire.  This is accomplished on a daily basis by assisting the fire departments with everyday operational readiness tasks, fire prevention, training, logistical support and response to emergency incidents.

The Squad is staffed by three Firefighters and one Fire Captain, providing services on a 24-hour basis.  This unit responds to all reported structure fires, technical rescues, and hazardous materials calls as well as any man-power intensive operation.  The unit is available to be requested for assistance by any of the Fire Districts within Guilford County as the need is determined by the Incident Commander.
